Killah in Brooklyn

It’s only three years old, but the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival has scored big time, landing Ghostface Killah to headline the five-day event this June.

The rapper, most famous for his work with the Wu-Tang Clan, will perform for free.

In the rap world, this is big news.

“Ghostface has a cult following that’s as oddball and colorful as the rapper himself,” said Andrew Simon, managing editor of Complex magazine.

The New Yorker recently called Ghostface, who will perform on June 23, “the de-facto Wu-Tang standard-bearer,” and described his voice as “a gorgeous instrument.”

And you know, we always take our rap advice from the New Yorker.
