King the Czar at Kaiser

Refreshing the entrance to Kaiser Park with a lick o’ paint was a slam-dunk for former New Jersey Nets player Albert King.

The Brooklyn-born hoop legend proved that he’s as good with a paint brush as with a basketball during a clean-up day at the Coney Island green on April 22 — held in conjunction with National Grid.

King, rated the top prep player in the nation over Magic Johnson and Gene Banks as a senior at Fort Hamilton High School in Bay Ridge, was joined by utility execs and workers, plus team representatives, as he helped spruce up the park on Neptune Avenue at West 27th Street, turning features that were eyesores into sights for sore eyes to mark the 40th anniversary of Earth Day.

More than 70 volunteers helped with the grime-bust organized by the Parks Department, Friends of Kaiser Park and Community Board 13.
