Kings Plaza puts spotlight on foster children

Have a heart!

Kings Plaza Shopping Center is issuing the call to the caring with a captivating Heart Gallery exhibit %u2013 on display in the lobby through August 24 %u2013 which brings into focus the plight of foster children, many of whom were on hand for the traveling exposition’s second annual appearance at the mall, Flatbush Avenue and Avenue U.

Five fresh-faced children from Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York, who were photographed for the exhibit, received the red-carpet treatment, complete with gift cards from Kings Plaza, an opportunity to meet potential adoptive parents and a self-portrait arts workshop with the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club-Thomas S. Murphy Clubhouse, 2245 Bedford Avenue.

The youngsters lent a face to the striking posters, which feature 50 of some of the most hard-to-place children in an effort to garner them “forever homes” as part of a community outreach campaign by Heart Gallery NYC in collaboration with the local foster care and adoption agency.

The photographs are shot by professional, celebrity and award-winning photographers who volunteered their services.
