Knocked unconscious

A 19-year-old was arrested following a vicious March 19 attack on Bay 26th Street that left his victim unconscious.

The attacker was arguing with his victim between Benson Avenue and 86th Street at 4:17 am when he began punching the victim repeatedly in the face, stunned witnesses told police.

His victim was rushed to Lutheran Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

Burglar bust

A 36-year-old burglar was arrested on March 23 after cops caught him breaking into a small apartment building on W. Sixth Street.

Police said they saw the suspect using a screwdriver to pry open the door to the building, which is between Avenue P and Quentin Road, at 10:45 am. The thief had already broken into one apartment — taking a bag of foreign coins — before he was taken into custody.

Lady looters

Three young women jumped a peer on Bath Avenue on March 22, taking her iPod.

The teenage girl was approaching 26th Avenue at 5 pm when the trio approached and asked her for the time. Their victim was about to accommodate when they covered her mouth, threw her to the ground and ran off with her music player.

Bay Parkway rob

Three thugs were arrested on March 19 after they tried to rob two men on Bay Parkway.

The victims were nearing 86th Street at 4:18 am when the three suspects surrounded them, demanding their money.

The thugs beat the victims before running off with their property — only to be taken into custody a short time later.

Gunning for credit cards

A pistol-packing perpetrator jammed the business end of his handgun into a 32-year-old man’s chest on March 17 during a robbery on 70th Street.

The victim was between 21st Avenue and Bay Parkway at 1:45 am when the thief ran up to him.

“Give me your money,” the thief demanded before putting the muzzle of the gun flat against his victim’s torso and running off with the man’s credit cards.

Chain ripper

A thief snagged a necklace from a 19-year-old woman during a brutal confrontation on 86th Street on March 25.

The victim told police that her 40-year-old attacker punched, choked and threatened her with a knife inside a building, located between Van Sicklen and Lake streets, at 9:25 pm before making off with the necklace.

Drive by smashing

A thief broke into a 2009 Lexus parked on West End Avenue on March 24 — fleeing in a white Suburban after looting the cabin.

The victim said she left her car parked between Shore Boulevard and Hampton Avenue at 5:40 pm as she picked up her children from daycare.

When she returned, the thief had smashed the driver’s side window and fled the area with $20 and some credit cards.

Pot pinch

A thief broke into a 2004 Chevrolet parked on Avenue V on March 23 — just so he could get at the three pots inside.

The victim said she left her car parked between Stuart and Burnett streets at 8 pm, not realizing that a gourmet chef desperately needing new kitchenware was going to happen by.

Six-year-old hit

A motorist nearly killed a 6-year-old boy during a March 24 hit and run on Brigham Street.

The child’s parents told police that the boy was crossing the street between Avenues X and Y at 4:30 pm when an unidentified car clipped him. The child was bruised, but otherwise uninjured.

Wallet whisk

A thief swiped a wallet from an employee of the Caspiy Restaurant on Avenue Z on March 24.

The victim accidentally left her purse on a table inside the restaurant, which is between E. 13th and E. 14th streets, at 2:50 pm when someone removed the wallet, as well as $1,193 in cash, a few credit cards and some documents.

Gunpoint rob

A thug pulled a gun on a 61-year-old man on March 16 during a harrowing holdup on West Street.

The victim told police that he was leaving work at 1:35 am when the thief jumped him between Avenues X and Y, robbing him of $300.
