Pocketbook grab

A thief on a bike swiped the purse of a 49-year-old woman at the corner of Smith and Luquer streets on Aug. 20, knocking her down in the process.

The victim was approaching the corner at 10:50 pm when the free-wheeling thief barreled by.

Cell held

A 27-year-old man was arrested on Aug. 21 after he allegedly tried to take another man’s cellphone on Smith Street.

The victim was between Douglass and Degraw streets at 1:30 am when the thief approached and demanded his phone.

The would-be thief allegedly threatened to punch the victim, but ran off empty-handed — only to be arrested by Officer David Sanon a short time later, police said.

Netbook bilker

A crook took a Toshiba computer from a Henry Street home on Aug. 16.

The thief entered his 62-year-old victim’s home between Kane and Degraw streets through an open window sometime after 11:30 am.

Laptop swipe

A thief forced his way into an Amity Street apartment on Aug. 20, taking two laptops.

The perp entered the apartment between Clinton and Court streets through the front door sometime after 12:30 am.

Stick up

Two thugs used a fake gun to rob a bodega on Fourth Avenue on Aug. 20, said cops after they arrested the duo.

A worker told cops that the crooks entered the shop near 13th Street at 3 am, with one holding what appeared to be a gun under his shirt. Something must have spooked them because the duo then fled without taking anything.

Cops arrested the suspects and discovered the “gun” was actually just a stick.

Purse grabber

A jerk snatched a purse from a woman on Montgomery Place on Aug. 20.

The 59-year-old victim told cops she was near Eighth Avenue at 9:30 pm when the thug ran up from behind and grabbed her brown Louis Vuitton purse full of credit cards, $150 and a cellphone.

Window pain

A jerk snatched a laptop from a woman on Park Place on Aug. 20.

The 36-year-old victim told cops that she left her apartment near Fifth Avenue at 11 pm, came back the next day at noon and noticed that her window was ajar. Closer inspection revealed that her MacBook Pro, cellphone and passport were gone.

Honda gone

A crook jacked a car parked on 13th Street on Aug. 14.

The 42-year-old driver told cops that he parked the red 1995 Honda Accord near Eighth Avenue at 11 am and came back the next moring to find his car gone.

Bike swipe

A scoundrel snatched a fancy bike from Eighth Street last week.

The 60-year-old cyclist told cops that he locked his apartment near Sixth Avenue on Aug. 6, then set off on an 11-day vacation. He came back and discovered his $2,100 Cannondale bike was gone.

Camry crook

A thug swiped some electronic goodies from a car on Prospect Place on Aug. 17.

The 36-year-old victim told cops that he parked the black 2004 Toyota Camry near Fifth Avenue at 7 pm and came back the next day at 9 pm to discover his window smashed and his Mac laptop and iPod gone.

Easy riders

At least four choppers were stolen last week:

• A thief swiped a motorcycle on Berkeley Place near Eighth Avenue overnight on Aug. 17. The owner said that he parked it at 5:30 pm, but the blue 2006 Suzuki was gone the next morning.

• Another cycle was snatched from Seventh Avenue near Union Street on Aug. 18. The bike was parked at 10 pm, but it was gone by 7 am the next day.

• A third burner was swiped from Berkeley Place overnight on Aug. 19. The 49-year-old victim told cops that he parked his black 2004 BMW motorbike near Eighth Avenue at 9:30 pm, but it was gone by 11:15 am.

• A quick-moving crook jacked a motorcycle on 11th Street in just 15 minutes on Aug. 18. The 27-year-old victim told cops that he parked the 2008 Suzuki near Seventh Avenue at 6:30 pm, but it was gone a quarter-hour later.

Unsmooth sailin’

A quick-moving thief snatched some computer parts from a woman on Sixth Street on Aug. 16.

The lady told cops that she set down a bag — with a hard drive and a New Jersey boating license inside — in front of her apartment near Seventh Avenue at 11 pm. She left it there for a few hours, then opened her front door and discovered it gone.

Zoo bandit

A thug snatched a purse and some electronics from a car near the Prospect Park Zoo on Aug. 19.

The driver told cops that she parked in the quiet stretch of Flatbush Avenue at between Empire Boulevard and Grand Army Plaza at 3:45 pm — but forgot to lock it. She came back an hour later and found her $2,500 tan Tory Burch purse and a gray MacBook Pro gone.

Buzz kill

A crook snatched a woman’s purse at a bar on Ninth Street on Aug. 14.

The 34-year-old club-hopper told cops that she set down her brown leather purse at Barbes, a live music joint near Sixth Avenue, had a drink and came back an hour later. That was enough time for the jerk to steal her bag — along with the cellphone and $20 inside.

Blue Ribbon bandit

A thug swiped a laptop at a restaurant on Fifth Avenue.

The 34-year-old victim told cops that she hung her bag on the back of her chair at Blue Ribbon restaurant near First Street just after midnight. She checked on it 15 minutes later and discovered it gone — along with the Mac laptop inside.

Tunes taken

A jerk snatched an iPod from a teenager on Eastern Parkway on Aug. 15.

The 15-year-old victim told cops that she was near Washington Avenue at 11:20 am when the crook pushed her, snatched an iPod from her hand and ran away.

Cops arrested an 18-year-old suspect the same day.

Sweet cash

A crook swiped major cash from a man on Underhill Avenue on Aug. 19.

The 24-year-old victim told cops he left his 2004 Chevrolet van unlocked near Lincoln Place at 4:30 pm and then walked into a store. He came back 20 minutes later and discovered $2,000 — and a box of candy — gone.

Five minutes

A quick-moving jerk snatched a laptop from a woman on Bergen Street on Aug. 17.

The 23-year-old victim told cops she left her apartment near Washington Avenue at 12:55 pm then came back five minutes later to find that a thief had climbged through her rear window to swipe her $2,000 MacBook Pro.

Ring cycle

A crook snatched jewelry from a Washington Avenue apartment on Aug. 15.

The 35-year-old victim told cops that she left her apartment near Prospect Place at 5:30 pm and came back five hours later to discover that a thief had climbed in through her rear window, snatched a $200 turquoise ring and a Mac laptop.

A computer from a neighboring building was also stolen the same night.

Written threats

A note-passing bandit threatened to kill everyone inside a Myrtle Avenue Chase Bank during a harrowing Aug. 15 robbery.

The bank at Vanderbilt Avenue was open at 9:30 am when the thief walked in and slipped the teller a note reading, “Give me all 100s and 50s before I get to killing people.”

The teller followed the message to the letter, giving the thief $2,000.

CVS rob

A gunman held up the brand new Myrtle Avenue CVS on Aug. 17, taking $100.

The thief entered the store — which had just opened between the Flatbush Avenue Extension and Navy Street a week earlier — at 9:40 am, pulling a gun on a worker found by the cash register.

“Put the money in the bag,” the thief instructed. “Don’t lose your life over this.”

iRob

Once again, thieves were snatching up iPhones like hot cakes last week. Here’s what happened:

• Two thugs jumped a 32-year-old man near DeKalb Avenue and S. Oxford Street on Aug. 16, robbing him of his iPhone and wallet. The victim was talking on his phone at 12:40 am when the suspects punched him in the head, knocked him to the ground and ran off with his property.

• Three fiends plucked the cherished iPhone from a 32-year-old woman on Clinton Avenue on Aug. 16. The woman was between Willoughby and DeKalb avenues at 2:04 pm when the suspects swiped the phone in a lightning-fast attack.

• Three teens swiped an iPhone from a 22-year-old woman as she waited for the G at Fulton Street on Aug. 17. The victim was on a bench at 8:24 pm when one of the thieves struck up a conversation. A few moments later, an accomplice walked by — snatching the smartphone.

• A thief grabbed a 35-year-old woman’s iPhone at the Clinton-Washington Avenue station on Aug. 16 — but first faked out his victim by attempting to take her purse.

The woman was entering the station at 8 pm when the suspect jumped her at the turnstile, grabbing her pocketbook.

The thug punched his victim in the face repeatedly as he yanked on the bag, but then suddenly let go so he could snatch up the iPhone in the woman’s hand.

• A goon followed a 30-year-old woman into the lobby of a Clinton Avenue apartment building on Aug. 19 before taking an iPhone and wallet at gunpoint. The woman had just entered the building between Gates Avenue and Fulton Street at 10:10 pm when the suspect grabbed her and flashed his weapon.

Coat grab

A gun-toting thief jumped a 29-year-old woman at Clinton and Willoughby avenues on Aug. 17 — taking a raincoat and the the cash, credit cards and iPhone in its pockets.

The victim was nearing the corner at 12:25 am when the suspect surprised her, waved a gun in front of her face before running off with her outerwear.

Surgical strike

A thief cut the pants of a sleeping 2 train commuter on Aug. 13, stealing the man’s wallet and cellphone.

The victim was taking the train from Manhattan to Brooklyn at 2:30 am when he fell asleep. He woke up when the train rolled into the Atlantic Avenue station — only to learn that someone had cut open his pants pocket and removed his property.

Ashlanded

A thief broke into a car parked on Ashland Place on Aug. 18, taking $500 and a laptop computer.

The 2005 Pontiac was left between DeKalb and Myrtle Avenues at 11 am. When the owner returned three hours later, he discovered that someone had broken the passenger side window and looted the cabin.

Socket to her

A thief armed with an adjustable wrench mugged a 25-year-old woman entering the Classon Avenue train station on Aug. 18 — making off with her wallet and cellphone.

The victim had just entered the station at 9:58 pm when the suspect blocked her path and threatened to brain her with his tool.

Four on two

A crooked quartet attacked two young men on Myrtle Avenue on Aug. 20, leaving them with a smattering of injuries.

The victims were between Stuben Street and Grand Avenue at 11:40 pm when the suspects pummeled them with punches.

The victim told cops that she was at work between 1 and 3 am when the crooks came entered her apartment between 72nd and 73rd streets and made off with a MacBook Pro and some serious coins.

No tip?

Sneak thieves ripped off a Bay Ridge Avenue restaurant on Aug. 15.

The perps broke through the rear window of Arabesque Cafe between Fourth and Fifth avenues at 3 am and stole $1,500. It was all captured on surveillance cameras.

Neck-less

A thug swiped an expensive necklace while its wearer was walking on Eighth Avenue on Aug. 17.

The victim told cops she was near 67th Street at 10:20 pm when the perp came up behind her, ripped off the $3,000 gold chain and kept on running.

Rolled for roll

A violent mugger made off with $2,400 after attacking a man on 12th Avenue on Aug. 17.

The victim told cops that he was near 66th Street when the attacker punched him in the eye repeatedly, then stole his cellphone and cash-stuffed wallet.

St-rolled

A thug tried to mug an old lady for her bag on Ridge Boulevard on Aug. 15.

Witnesses told cops that the woman was near 89th Street when the perp came behind her and tried to grab her bag. The woman resisted and fell to the ground.

Witnesses chased the attacker down 89th Street, but he got away.

Movie break

A burglar smashed a door at the Brooklyn Heights Cinema on Henry Street on Aug. 21.

Legendary owner Kenn Lowy told cops that someone broke into the movie house near Orange Street at 3:45 am.

Police arrested a 54-year-old suspect — who allegedly had a screwdriver and latex gloves — at the scene.

Double trouble

Two robbers clobbered a man on Atlantic Avenue on Aug. 16 — and then used his wallet to buy gas for their getaway car.

The 33-year-old victim told police that he was near Bond Street at 12:50 am when the attackers jumped out of a black SUV and socked him. They snatched his credit cards and $60 before fleeing.

The man later noticed the jerks used his American Express at a gas station.

Bond Street and Atlantic Avenue

Whinemaker

A thief broke into a Henry Street wine bar and snatched several bottles of alcohol on Aug. 14.

An employee told cops that he left the Brooklyn Heights Wine Bar near Cranberry Street at 11 pm. When he returned the next morning, a window was smashed and the vino was gone.

Out of hand

A sneaky thief snatched a woman’s wallet as she entered the Jay Street-Metrotech train station on Aug. 12.

The 35-year-old victim told cops that she was on the stairs to the A train at 9 pm when a stranger yanked her billfold from behind and ran away.

He got away the New Jersey woman’s credit and medical cards.

Double take

A devious tag-team swiped a woman’s cellphone and wallet on Jay Street on Aug 16.

The 27-year-old victim told police that she was near Willoughby Street at 4 pm when one thief stole her wallet and fled into the subway. Just then, another crook came from behind and plucked the mobile from her hands.

Police arrested two suspects, ages 15 and 19, at the scene.

Cash out

A double-dealing employee stole a few thousand dollars from a Livingston Street cellphone store on Aug 4.

A 22-year-old worker told cops that when she came to the shop near Bond Street at 9:30 am, she noticed $3,317 was missing from the locked register. She said only one hired hand had access to the cash.

Instant rebate

A scoundrel asked to use a Hoyt Street shop’s bathroom on Aug. 17, but stole a chunk of cash instead.

The 45-year-old victim told cops that he was working at 99 Cent City near Livingston Street at 4 pm when a customer asked to use the lavatory. The stranger then walked into an unlocked office and stole $3,660.

Gym rats

A shady athlete broke into three lockers at a Duffield Street gym on Aug. 21 and got away with $500.

The victims told cops that their stuff was stolen from the Planet Fitness near Fulton Street between 10:30 am and 1:30 pm. The men had been pumping iron and returned hours later to find their lockers busted open.

The lucky thief got away with credit cards, an Android phone and Prada sneakers.

Car-loaded

Some jerk broke into a car on Hoyt Street on Aug. 12 and scored a laptop, Ray-Bans and other cool loot.

The 24-year-old victim told cops that she parked near Livingston Street at 9:30 am. When she returned that night, her computer, sunglasses, shoes and mobile were gone.

Twin thieves

A duo of marauders whacked a man with a glass bottle on Bergen Street on Aug. 17.

The 41-year-old victim told police that he was near Hoyt Street at 11:30 pm when the devious pair attacked him. One crook punched him and the other smashed the bottle on his head.

The victim walked to Long Island College Hospital. Police are seeking 40- and 30-year-old suspects.

Cheap thrills

A thief stole a 1991 Buick from State Street overnight on Aug. 14.

The 66-year-old victim told cops that she near Bond Street at 8 pm. When she returned the next morning, the $500 vehicle was gone.

Two-wheel steal

Some scoundrel lifted a silver motorcycle from Pineapple Street last week.

The 36-year-old victim told cops that he parked near Hicks Street on Aug. 16. Four days later, the chopper was gone.

Wheel bad

A thief stole a Kawasaki motorbike from Aitken Place last week.

The victim told cops that he parked near Clinton Street on Aug. 17. When he returned two days later, his $3,900 ride was gone.

Phone haul

A band of thieves beat up a man for his cellphone on Nevins Street on Aug. 15.

The 34-year-old victim told cops that he was near Pacific Street at 9:40 pm when the gang surrounded him. One of the crooks knocked him in the head and another pinched his iPhone and wallet before fleeing.

Jump the gun

Two gun-toting robbers stole a diamond chain from a man on Joralemon Street on Aug. 20.

The 26-year-old victim told cops that he was near Court Street at 7:45 am when the dastardly pair approached him. One of them simulated a firearm in his waistband and said, “That chain is nice” and the other creep removed the bling from the man’s neck.

Both thieves fled in a black car.

Subway stuff

Four thieves jumped a woman on the subway on Aug. 19.

The victim told cops that the group first approached her as she waited for a Brooklyn-bound L train at the Third Avenue station in Manhattan at 4 am, and accused her of bumping into them on the platform.

The woman walked away, and boarded the next train, but the gang followed her into the subway car — and all the way to the Bedford Avenue station, where they grabbed her purse, which contained an iPhone, cash and credit cards.

Hate crime

A group of teens allegedly yelling homophobic slurs beat up a man on Bedford Avenue on Aug. 16. The man was near N. Seventh Street at 12:45 pm when the teenagers accosted him, screamed anti-gay obscenities and struck him with an umbrella before fleeing.

Gunpoint stickup

A gun-wielding thief robbed a man on Frost Street on Aug. 19.

The victim was between Humboldt Street and Woodpoint Road at around 4:30 am when the thug approached, pulled out a handgun and said, “Just give me the wallet and go — just run!”

The terrified man handed over his wallet and sprinted away.

Armed and dangerous

An armed thug held-up a man on Herbert Street on Aug. 21.

The man was stopped near Monitor Street at 4 am by a thug with a gun who demanded his money and then fled with the stolen loot.

School sting

A man pilfered a wallet from a backpack in a classroom at Harry Van Arsdale HS on N. Sixth Street on Aug. 17.

The student told police that he had stepped out of a classroom inside of the school, which is between Roebling and Havemeyer streets, at 11 am. He returned just four minutes later to find the backpack open and his wallet missing.

Flip-flop

A group of thugs stole a flip phone from a man on Driggs Avenue on Aug. 18.

The man was near N. 11th Street at 4:30 pm when the robbers shoved him to the ground, grabbed his cellphone and ran away.

Costly break-in

Burglars stole a treasure trove of equipment from a Jackson Street home on Aug. 18 — waking the sleeping occupant in the process.

The victim told police that she was catching 40 winks at 1:54 am when she heard strangers moving around inside of her apartment, which is between Lorimer and Leonard streets. When she got up to investigate, the robbers fled through an open patio door, taking with them a laptop, cameras and a credit card.

Wedded dis

A heartless thief stole a woman’s wedding rings and other jewels from her India Street apartment on Aug. 15.

The woman left her home between Manhattan Avenue and Frankling Street at 8:40 am and returned at 7:30 pm to find the front door open and multiple wedding rings, a gold necklace and an antique brooch gone.

Locker shocker

A wallet was stolen from a locker at the Greenpoint YMCA on Meserole Avenue on Aug. 19.

The victim locked his belongings in a locker inside the gym near Manhattan Avenue at 12:30 pm. When he returned two hours, later his locker had been pried open and his wallet was missing.

Van stolen

A thief stole a van from Leonard Street on Aug 16.

The owner said that he parked the 1992 Chevy at 7 pm between Nassau and Norman avenues. He returned to retrieve it just after midnight to find that the car had been stolen.

oyPhone

Thieves stole an iPhone from a woman on Nassau Avenue on Aug. 16.

The victim told cops that she was using the device near Humboldt Street at 10:44 pm when the thieves snatched it out of her hand and fled down Norman Avenue.

Caffeine low

It turned into one expensive cup of Joe.

A woman told police that she forgot to lock her car before stepping into a coffee shop on Berry Street at N. Third Street at 5:30 pm on Aug. 19.

When she returned, she discovered the camera, credit cards and leather purse that she’d left in the unattended vehicle were missing.

Beauty crime

A group of thieves swiped cosmetics from the Duane Reade pharmacy on Kent Avenue on Aug. 19.

Cops say that the thugs entered the store, between N. Fourth and N. Fifth streets, at 1:50 pm and pocketed some Olay beauty products before leaving minutes later.

Lock smith

A thief stole valuables from an unlocked car on Leonard Street on Aug. 19.

The owner said he forgot to secure his vehicle when he parked it in front of a construction site at 7 am. When he came back to check 15 minutes later, his wallet was missing.

Bridge out

A cycling robber stole a woman’s satchel at gunpoint on the Williamsburg Bridge bike path on Aug. 21.

The victim was on the bridge near Borinquen Place at 12:29 am, when the perp rode up to her and flashed a handgun.

“Give me your bag. What’s in your hand?” he said, prompting her to comply, giving up her iPad and cellphone.

“Be quiet!” the perp ordered, demanding that she run towards Manhattan as he fled towards Brooklyn.

Gun mug

A robber mugged three women at gunpoint on Manhattan Avenue on Aug. 21.

The women were near Powers Street at 3:50 am when the perp pointed a silver firearm at them, demanding, “Give me your purse, give me your wallet.”

The women gave up a wallet, a purse and a phone, and the perp fled.

Phone mugging

A perp choked a man unconscious and stole his wallet and phone on Morgan Avenue on Aug. 21.

The victim was near Grand Street at 4 am when the perp approached him from behind and choked him until he blacked out. The victim fell to the ground, and the perp stole his property and ran.

Choked up

A perp choked a man as he was entering his Leonard Street apartment on Aug. 21, and stole his phone and cash.

The victim entered his building at 4:30 am when the perp approached him put him in a chokehold.

The thief took the victim’s phone and $60, and ran down Meserole Street.

Cell hell

A thief choked a man on S. Second Street and stole his phone on Aug. 20.

The victim was near Hooper Street at 2 am when the perp grabbed him from behind and put him in a chokehold.

The perp grabbed his phone and ran away.

Art attack

A thief stole a laptop from 3rd Ward’s Morgan Avenue office on Aug. 22.

Several workers at the Williamsburg arts space near Stagg Street left their office at 12:30 pm to go to lunch, but when they returned an hour later, they discovered that a $2,500 computer was missing.

Police are reviewing video, which showed a man wearing a purple baseball hat, tan shorts, and a blue jacket leaving the complex with the computer under his arm.
