Fall leaves are turning into ‘Brown Gold’ thanks to the members of 6/15 Green.
The grass roots group is holding four leaf recycling events, on November 8, 9, 15 and 23 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the community garden located at Sixth Avenue and Fifteenth Street in South Park Slope.
Interested persons are invited to bring their leaves bagged either in clear plastic or brown paper bags. All branches, twigs or trash must be removed.
Information will be available at the garden on how to make compost in your own garden or apartment and anyone bringing leaves can join in a raffle to win a garden compost bin.
Previously 6/15 Green collected over a ton of leaves in a single season and expects to break that record with the contribution of leaves from surrounding communities.
