Want to learn about wine, but not be bored? This riot is for you.
This weekend, Skylight One Hanson in Fort Greene is hosting the “Wine Riot,” a touring tasting that features more than 250 wines, unlimited sampling, and plenty of instruction.
But leave your textbooks and vintage charts at home.
“People come to other wine events, and there’s people in suits and ascots telling them what they should smell in their glasses — the whole thing becomes boring,” said Tyler Balliet, a Wine Riot organizer. “We think wine events should be fun.”
Fun and educational, too. Wine Riot experts roam the floor offering tips and advice, and food, priced at $5, is matched to different varietals.
There’s even dancing and a photo booth.
