Kings County legal eagles gathered in Downtown Brooklyn for the annual Bar Association awards gala on Dec. 9.
Hundreds of judges, lawyers, and politicos attended the event — held at the Marriott Hotel across the street from the Supreme Court building — which was the latest installment of the Bar Association’s beloved annual tradition.
This year’s ceremony served to honor a number of high-profile Brooklynites for their outstanding contribution to the legal world — including Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, Richmond County Administrative Judge Desmond Green, Kings County Supreme Court Justice David Vaughan, and Brooklyn Defender Services executive director Lia Schreibersdorf.
Jeffries — a member of the House of Representatives’ Judiciary Committee — was slated to address the gala’s attendees, but was forced to remain in the nation’s capital due to the ongoing impeachment hearings into President Donald Trump.
