The services were among several offered at the Lena Cymbrowitz Community Health Fair in Sheepshead Bay, May 23, where pro-active boroughites found the prescription for good health — complete with screenings, information, giveaways and a good time.
Students from nearby Public Schools 195, 255 and 206, and martial artists from TKT Taekwondo USA on Sheepshead Bay Road joined face-painters, jugglers and clowns in keeping the visitors entertained.
For the seventh year, Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz (D-Sheepshead Bay) has made sure that his wife — late Assemblymember Lena Cymbrowitz whose seat he succeeded in a special 2000 election — did not lose her battle with breast cancer in vain by organizing a community health fair in conjunction with Maimonides Medical Center, Beth Israel’s Kings Highway Division and Kiwanis International.
The fair featured more than 40 health-smart tables set up along the waterfront, from Sheepshead Bay Road to the Ocean Avenue footbridge, in addition to educational amusements, such as tours led by firefighters inside a parked Fire Department ambulance.
