Lenten soup supper at St. Anselm R.C. church

St. Anselm R.C. Church hosted the Fifth Annual Cluster “Lenten Soup Supper” at the school’s meeting hall, 365 83rd Street.

Monsignor Michael Phillips welcomed the Bay Ridge/Dyker Heights Cluster parishes, comprised of St. Andrews, St. Anselm, St. Bernadette, St. Ephrem’s, St. Patrick’s & Our Lady of Angels.

Monsignor Phillips said that, “The Soup Supper is part of their Lenten commitment while reminding them of sacrifice.” He explained that, “The free will offerings will benefit the needy served by St. Bartholomew’s Parish Outreach,” and that “giving is a sign of grace for ourselves which will hopefully bring grace to others as well.”

Monsignor Phillips then introduced Mary Gilmore, who briefly spoke about Pauline Day, CSJ, for whom this year’s Lenten Soup Supper was dedicated in memory of.

Gilmore explained that Day was remembered as an active supporter of the Lenten Soup Suppers
