Train trouble
At least two incidents went down on the subways within the confines of the 84th Precinct last week.
• A creep pickpocketed a woman while she rode a Coney Island-bound F Train on July 14.
The victim told cops that she arrived at the Jay Street-Borough Hall station at around 3:15 pm and realized she was missing $200 and five credit cards. By the time she got home to cancel her cards, all of them had been used.
• A thief used the old “bump and swipe” technique to rob a man of his wallet while he rode a Rockaway-bound A train on June 17.
The victim told cops that he felt the stranger brush against him as the train pulled into the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station at around 7 pm. He lost an assortment of IDs and credit cards.
Knifepoint
Two teen cretins went on a crime spree early on July 16, but they were eventually busted by the cops. Here is how it went down:
• The two punks first held up a pair of guys on their way home after a night of partying.
The victims said that they were in front of their Bergen Street home between Bond and Nevins streets when the two thugs approached at around 4:50 am. Both troublemakers pulled knives, and one said, “Don’t f— with us, give us what you have!” They handed over a Droid phone and a debit card.
• Minutes later, and with two extra accomplices, they beat up a guy and stole his iPod while he was on his way to work.
The victim said that he was at Boerum Place and Pacific Street when the quartet of creeps rolled up on bicycles at around 5 am. One of the jerks put the victim in a headlock while a partner snatched the digital music player. Cops quickly conducted a canvass and picked up two 16 and 18-year-old suspects, who were identified by the victim and later tied to the previous crime. Officer Francois Martinez got the credit for the collar.
NY Sports swipe
A thief stole a wallet from a locker in the New York Sports Club on Remsen Street on July 12.
The physically active victim said that he had finished his workout at the gym between Court and Clinton streets at around 11 am when he returned to his locker and realized he was missing two credit cards and an ID.
His credit card company soon alerted him that someone had made a whopping $5,000 in charges on one of the cards. The victim could not remember whether he had locked his locker.
Park peril
A gun-toting thug intimidated a man into ditching his cellphone and wallet in McLaughlin Park on July 12.
The victim said that he was in the park at Tillary Street and Flatbush Avenue at around 1 am when the thug approached, brandished the gun and said, “Throw your phone.” The victim followed orders, and lost a $400 smartphone and $75.
Bag it
A thief threatened a security guard at knifepoint and stole 20 handbags from the Strawberry on Fulton Street on July 12.
Witnesses in the clothing store between Bond Street and Elm Place said the daring thief made his move for the Nine West and Dereon handbags at around 4:55 pm. The guard then attempted to intervene, but the perp pulled the blade and said, “I will cut you.” He then made his escape with $660 in merchandise.
Hot times
A thief stole an air conditioning unit from a Willoughby Street furniture store on July 13.
An employee at the Pola Furniture between Lawrence and Bridge streets told cops he had last been in the store the day before at 8 pm. When he opened at 6 am, the AC unit was gone, along with a laptop and $50.
Sunday snatch
A thief grabbed a woman’s purse while she walked to church on July 18.
The 63-year-old victim told cops she was walking on Wyckoff Street between Court and Smith streets at around 9 am when the thief made his move. A witness saw the incident and tried to give chase, but the creep escaped with the bag that contained a pair of eyeglasses, a cellphone, and a Bible.
Robbed
A bandit snatched a teenager’s cellphone and necklace as she entered her Pacific Street apartment building on July 13.
The 18-year-old victim told cops that the thief followed her to her home between Boerum Place and Smith Street at around 11 pm. She said that the perp had a tribal tattoo on his face and said “Shh, don’t call the cops, I know where you live!”
Moto madness
A man discovered his Kawasaki motorcycle had vanished from Clinton Street on July 13.
The owner of the crotch rocket told cops he had last seen his ride six days before between Schermerhorn and State streets at around 9 am.
