Payback
A fiend socked a man who tried to save a friend from a beating on Humboldt Street in the early morning of June 21.
The victim told police he was near Maujer Avenue at 3 am when he saw his friend being attacked by four guys. He stepped in and tried to get them off of his friend, and one of them hit him in the face with a brick, according to the police report.
The victim told police that this is the third time that he’s been assaulted by this neighborhood guy who goes by the name of “Jujo.”
The rub
Cops cuffed a man who they said stole a girl’s purse while she was getting a massage on Union Street on June 21.
The victim told police that she was in the massage parlor between S. Third and S. Fourth streets at 5:20 pm when a man suddenly came in and grabbed her purse. She tried to pull it back from him and he punched her in the face and body and ran away, cops reported.
Police charged him with robbery and assault.
It danced away
Someone stole a woman’s wallet while she was dancing at a Meserole Street nightclub on June 20.
The victim told police that she was dancing at the club at 2 am when she noticed that her wallet was not in her pocket. The woman told police that she did not remember being pushed or jostled.
A straphanger returned the billfold to police after finding it on a train in the Bronx the next day, but a MetroCard and $73 in cash was missing.
Smash and grab
Cops arrested a 17-year-old man who they said beat a man with a police barricade and stole his money on Broadway on June 18.
The victim told police that he was near Union Avenue at 5:15 pm when the teen suddenly hit him in the head with a police barricade. His friends then grabbed the cash out of his pocket and ran, officials state. Police charged the 17 year old with robbery.
Cut like a knife
A blade-bearing brute knifed a teen in the back on Manhattan Avenue in broad daylight on June 17.
The victim told police that he was near Cook Street at 2 pm when a guy suddenly came up behind him and stabbed him in the lower back. The victim told police that he did not know who the man was. He walked himself to Woodhull Medical Center for treatment.
