Maimonides nurses get some extra ‘muscle’

Fugghetaboutit, I can fix you good.

Pasquale “Patsy” Parisi – also known as Sopranos’s star Danny Grimaldi – swapped his black shirt for white uniform and joined other local notables to pay tribute to Brooklyn’s Florence Nightingales during a Nurses Week commemoration at Maimonides Medical Center.

The actor-turned-temporary-medic was in good company as looked the part and took a rare glimpse into the day-to-day duties of registered nurses at the hospital, 4802 10th Avenue.

After a brief orientation, the ‘honorary nurses’ – among them, Assemblymember Janele Hyer-Spencer, Councilmember Domenic Recchia, State Senator Eric Adams and Kings County District Attorney Charles Hynes – were paired with their real-life counterparts for an hour of patient rounds.

Other guests included: New York Fire Lieutenant George Farinacci, Patrol Borough Brooklyn South Community Affairs Lieutenant James Woods, Department of Sanitation shop steward John Talmadge and Community Board 12 District Manager Wolf Sender.

The visit was part of a national salute to nurses and participants received an honorary nurse’s diploma.
