Time’s up
In a repeat attack from last week, three punks asked an unsuspecting victim in DUMBO for the time and then attacked him when he ignored the question.
This time, three punks robbed a Brooklyn Heights man on July 12 as he was waiting at the corner of Sands and Adams streets in DUMBO. One thug asked him for the time — it was just before 8 pm — but the man walked away.
That’s when one thug punched the victim in the back of the head and another demanded money and a phone.
The victim did not ignore that request, and the perps fled eastbound on Sands Street with their loot.
Get it, got it, gone
Five punks beat and robbed a 29-year-old man on State Street on July 9.
The gang approached the victim just after midnight as he passed Nevins Street. One thug grabbed the victim’s arms, another yelled “Grab his stuff,” while a third yanked his cellphone out of his hand. Another thug punched the victim in the face with a closed fist, and then they all ran away.
Crack-berry
Cops arrested two teenagers after they attacked a young DUMBO woman on July 13 as she walked home from work.
The 8:30 pm attack, at the southeast corner of Red Cross Place and Adams Street, occurred just after the woman exited the High Street train station using the less-busy turnstiles near the city’s Office of Emergency Management headquarters. One punk grabbed her while his accomplice punched her in the face and snatched her Blackberry. The kids — ages 12 and 13 — then ran toward the Farragut Housing projects where cops found and arrested them.
The victim was sent to Long Island College Hospital where she was treated for nose and face injuries.
Clean break
At least two burglars broke into construction sites this week, and both made off with expensive goods. Here’s a round-up:
• A burglar kicked in a wooden fence surrounding a Boerum Hill restaurant that is undergoing renovations on July 6.
• A burglar sneaked into another Boerum Hill construction site overnight on July 10, stealing more than $2,000 worth of equipment and tools, on Dean Street near Nevins Street.
Gone forever
Two perps beat up a young woman in Boerum Hill on July 6 as she was walking home along State Street.
The 25-year-old Brooklyn Heights woman was walking near Bond Street just before 10 pm when one thug shoved her to the ground as the other grabbed her cellphone and purse. The perps said nothing during the attack, and quickly fled.
