94th Precinct

Greenpoint–Northside

Set-up

A con tricked a teenage girl into meeting him for a date on Wythe Avenue on Dec. 30, then had her jumped, cops said.

The 18-year-old victim said she made plans to meet the goon near N. Fourth Street at 10 pm, but when she got there, he was with a lady, who laid into her.

The lout joined in, punching her and grabbing her purse, which contained her Samsung tablet and iPhone, then hopping into a gray sedan and driving off, officers said.

Son lawless

Police arrested a man who they say punched his elderly father in the chest in their Diamond Street home on Dec. 28.

The 74-year-old victim said he and his son got into an argument about the victim’s computer at their home between Norman and Nassau avenues at 8 pm.

The 48-year-old suspect punched his father, who had recently had a triple bypass surgery operation, and the NYPD charged the son with elder assault, according to a report.

So smashed

A party-goer, upset that a woman bumped into her, smashed her in the face with a glass at a Berry Street nightclub on Dec. 28, cops said.

The 25-year-old victim said she was at the venue between N. 11th and N. 12th streets at 3 am when she accidentally jostled the madwoman. Infuriated, the fiend yelled, then spilled the victim’s blood. The glass cut the victim’s mouth and she required stitches, according to the authorities.

Busting loose

Someone broke into a man’s Metropolitan Avenue apartment on Dec. 24 and stole his laptop and jar of loose change, law enforcement officials said.

The victim said he was gone from his pad between Leonard Street and Manhattan Avenue from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm. When he returned home, he found the items taken, he reported. The doors and windows were locked, he said, and there were no signs of forced entry, per the police.

Cycle of despair

A bandit was caught on camera breaking into an N. Fifth Street apartment building and stealing a bicycle out of the basement garage on Dec. 23, a report says.

The victim said that when he found his bike gone from the building between Wythe Avenue and Berry Street, management reviewed surveillance footage to spot the culprit sneaking into the building at 9 am as another tenant was leaving. The burglar crept into the basement and grabbed the bicycle, which was not chained or locked to anything, according to a police description of the video.

Sweat equity

A crook stole a guy’s gym bag as he worked out at a Calyer Street gym on Dec. 29, officers said.

The victim said he was working out at the gym between Lorimer Street and Manhattan Avenue from 6:45 pm to 7 pm. He set his bag, which contained his wallet, credit cards, cash, passport, and driver’s license, on the ground next to his stationary bicycle, and when he got off the machine 15 minutes later, he realized his stuff was gone, according to cops.

Lending a handbag

A man pretending to be a good Samaritan robbed a woman on Berry Street early on the morning of Jan. 1, NYPD officials said.

The victim said she was near N. 12th Street at 5:26 am when the shifty character approached her and asked her what she was doing and where she was going. The lady told him that she was going home, and the scoundrel offered to hail her a cab, but he then ripped her purse off her shoulder, hopped on a bicycle, and made his escape, according to a police report.
