Man sought for pushing elderly traffic officer to the ground

A man pushed a traffic cop to the ground after he tried to issue a summons, police said.

Police are searching for a man who assaulted a 72-year-old traffic officer in Sunset Park on Nov. 27.

The elderly traffic enforcement agent was writing a summons for a car that was illegally parked on Fifth Avenue by 58th Street at 2:45 pm when its owner shoved him to the ground, police said.

The suspect then fled the scene in a gray Nissan Rogue southbound on Fifth Avenue. 

The victim suffered pain and bruising to his back and was taken by first responders to NYU Langone Hospital/Brooklyn in stable condition.
