Mani, a chamber music ensemble dedicated to using all art as a vehicle to develop a diverse, healthy, and compassionate community, will hold a number of shows throughout Brooklyn in the coming week.
Mani Chamber Ensemble will perform Stravinsky’s “L’Histoire du Soldat” (trio version), Davidovsky’s Synchronisms #12 for Clarinet and Electronic Sounds featuring Meighan Stoops on clarinet, 8 p.m., June 1 at Douglass Street Music Collective, 295 Douglass Street 11215. Additionally, the Nicole Federici Quintet will be performing at 9 p.m. Tickets $15 at the door.
Mani Chamber Ensemble will also perform “Music at Ascension Season Finale,” at 4 p.m., June 7 at the Church of the Ascension, 127 Kent Street. On tap that evening will be Stravinsky’s “L’Histoire du Soldat” (trio version), Cameron Britt Foreword for clarinet quintet, and Dmitry Shostakvich Piano Quintet.
Guest artists include Britt, composer; Meighan Stoops, clarinet; Amadi Hummings, viola; Nicole Sharlow, violin; and Jennifer DeVore, cello. Tickets are $15 at the door, $10 for seniors and students with ID. Children under 12 are free.
