Hose hood
Police arrested a 64-year-old man who they say broke into an Avenue K home on Oct. 4 — just so he could damage a woman’s washing machine.
The woman, who lives near E. 12th Street, said the thief forced his way into the home at 8:45 pm, flashed his knife, and then cut the hose to the washing machine in the woman’s kitchen.
The victim called 911, and cops charged the hose cutter with burglary and criminal trespass.
iThief busted
Cops say a bone-headed teen tried to swipe an iPhone from a man on E. Eighth Street — but ended up throwing baseless threats when his plan for the Oct. 18 heist fell apart.
The victim was approaching Parkville Avenue at 3:20 pm when the teen approached and asked for the time, thinking that the man would pull out his Smartphone to check. But the victim turned the tables on the would-be thief by rattling off the time from memory.
Flustered, the thief asked his victim if he could check his iPhone for the time, but the man refused.
That’s when the thief motioned to his waistband as if he had a gun.
“I will shoot you in the head if you don’t give me the phone,” he said.
Again, the victim didn’t buy it — but used his iPhone to call the cops, who arrested the teen for attempted robbery.
Knife assault
A 42-year-old man was arrested on Oct. 17 following an attack on Flatbush Avenue, police said.
The thug and his victim were arguing near Lenox Road at 4:45 pm when the thief flashed a knife and attacked, punching the victim in the chest repeatedly.
Cops from the 70th Precinct caught up with the thief a short time later, charging him with assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.
Glass houses
Cops arrested a 46-year-old who they say wigged out inside an E. 18th Street home on Oct. 17 — and began throwing rocks through his house’s window, from the inside!
Witnesses said the suspect was inside the home between Beverly and Albemarle roads at 10 pm when he began throwing rocks at the window, shattering it.
