Revival Reggae Sundays will host the African reggae group META and the Cornerstones, June 8. Led by lead singer Meta Dia, this afro-fusion reggae band is quickly taking the world by storm with their infusion of rock, hip hop, soul and African rhythms.
The live performance will take place at 9 p.m. at LOX Lounge, 15 Putnam Avenue in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. The event is part of the Revival Reggae “Live” Concert Series.
Born in Senegal, West Africa, Meta grew a deep love for all genres of music, especially reggae. In the year 2002, the group META and the Cornerstones was born and there has been no stopping them since. Performing in English, French, Wolof and Fulani, the group has achieved great success appearing alongside some of the biggest name in reggae.
Revival Reggae Sundays features an all-star line up of New York’s premiere DJs including DJ Silence of 107.9 Flava FM and DJ Jase of Pointblank Sound.
Showtime is 9 p.m. Admission is $10 and is discounted with RSVP.
