Military personnel of all ages revel at VFW holiday party

Among those on hand were (not in order) Fort Hamilton Garrison Commander Colonel Stephen Smith, Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Juan A. Cáez, and City Councilman Vincent Gentile, as well as US veterans of all ages.

Veterans from every major US conflict, from WWII to Afghanistan and Iraq, and their families came together to honor the sacrifices made by those who have served andcontinue to serve during the Rankin Healey VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post#4785 of Bay Ridge’s holiday celebration.

Among those on hand for the holiday cheer were Fort Hamilton Garrison Commander Colonel Stephen Smith, who was honored for his contributions to the veterans of Brooklyn; Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Juan A. Cáez; and longtime friend of the Rankin Healey VFW New York City Councilman Vincent Gentile.

While there was food, music, and revelry, those in attendance also recalledthose US Troops currently serving overseas who cannot be with their families during this holiday season, and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Rankin Healey VFW Post is located at 9312 Fourth Avenue in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn.
