‘Moderate’ allies are radicals

Radical Islam has rampaged and raved, beheaded and raped, stolen land and toppled a government, trained kids to kill and burned alive a man in a cage, but its inhumanities are hardly worse than so-called moderate Muslim regimes that claim to be our pals.

Jordan’s King Abdullah may seem like a Hashemite Tarzan kicking off his “relentless war” against the Islamic State with swift retaliatory executions and air strikes for the savage torching of his countryman pilot, but he is no defender of life, liberty, and happiness. Abdullah criminalizes free speech and signs off on the torture of prisoners incarcerated on trumped-up charges — suspended from their wrists and beaten with knotted electrical cables and hoses. Yet clueless President Obama thinks Abdullah rocks and plans to boost Jordan’s gravy train to $1 billion a year to help it continue its atrocities.

Saudi Arabia is the birthplace of the “religion of peace,” but tell that to the ghost of crime suspect Laila Bint Abdul Muttalib Basim, who pleaded for her life as she was dragged through the street in holy Mecca by four cops in January and beheaded by sword without being given painkillers because authorities “wanted to make the pain more powerful for her.” Yet when the tyrannical Saudi monarch kicked the bucket in January, Obama praised him as a leader “who had the courage of his convictions.” Seriously?

Indonesia is the largest Muslim country and the boyhood nation of Obama who calls it an “example to the world,” but Muslims there chant “kill, kill,”” and set aflame churches while state zealots muffle freedom of religion and speech and arrested a newspaper editor for blasphemy last year for publishing cartoons of the vile Islamic State.

Some of our allies in the Muslim world are every bit as violent and ugly as the Islamo-nuts they claim to abhor. We should shun them, not fund them, especially when the difference between them and the terrorists isn’t terribly clear.
