Money-raiser for City Harvest will be food, folks and funds

Talk about an autumn harvest!

More than 75 of Brooklyn’s finest artisanal foodsmiths will converge on the Tobacco Warehouse this Saturday in an all-day festival and benefit for City Harvest.

In addition to stands, there’ll be a tasting tent and cookbook signings — which makes this food market a bit different than an upscale supermarket.

“And we have amazing collection of both old and new Brooklyn purveyors,” added Naomi Giges of City Harvest — and judging from the list, she ain’t lying: Frankies Spuntino and Prime Meats, the Brooklyn Kitchen, Mast Brothers Chocolate, Four and Twenty Blackbirds, Van Leeuwen, and the husband-and-wife Robicelli cupcake team will all have booths.

And don’t miss free samples from Seersucker and Mile End in the tasting area, which requires another admission free.

And, of course, there will be face-painting for the kids (this is Brooklyn, after all).

Brooklyn Local at the Tobacco Warehouse (26 New Dock St. at Water Street in DUMBO), Sept. 17, 11 am-4 pm. Admission is $5 ($60 for the tasting tent). For info, visit www.cityharvest.org.
