Undelivered
Two more restaurant delivery men were robbed on the job last week, the third and fourth crimes of the same kind in the past two weeks.
In the first incident, the 28-year-old delivery man was held up at knifepoint inside the lobby of a 74th Street apartment building on Aug. 4.
The victim told cops that when he entered the building, between Second and Third avenues at around noon, he was met by a man who told him to come upstairs to collect the money for the bill.
Once the two men were in the elevator, the suspect pulled out a knife and said, “Give me your money now.”
The victim complied with the threat and handed over $150. When the elevator doors opened, the suspect fled.
Then, on Aug. 6, a 30-year-old delivery man was robbed in the lobby of a Marine Avenue apartment building.
The victim told cops he entered the building, at the corner of 95th Street, at around 11:15 am and was approached by the suspect, who pulled out a knife and demanded money. This time, the thief made off with $90.
Lots of breaks
At least four neighborhood homes were broken into in separate incidents last week:
First, on July 26, someone broke into a 66th Street apartment.
The 22-year-old victim made it easy for the thief, leaving an unlocked door to his apartment, which is between Fifth and Sixth avenues, when he left at around 7:30 pm.
When he returned just an hour later, the door was ajar and more than $1,800 worth of electronics were gone.
In the second incident, which occurred later that day, someone broke into an 80th Street home.
The 26-year-old tenant of the apartment, which is also between Fifth and Sixth avenues, told cops he got home just before midnight and noticed that more than $7,500 worth of jewelry — including a pair of Versace cuff links — was gone from inside.
A Sixth Avenue home was burgled early on Aug. 2.
The 60-year-old victim told cops that when she went into her bathroom to take a shower at around 10 am, she noticed the bathroom window was wide open.
She decided to take a look around the house, which is between 70th and 71st streets, and realized her laptop and about $1,000 in prescription drugs had been taken.
Finally, someone broke into an Ovington Avenue home on Aug. 4.
The 39-year-old victim told cops she left the home, between Fifth and Sixth avenues at around 3 pm. When she returned less than 12 hours later, she noticed a rear bedroom window open and $1,500 of electronics missing from inside
Night clubbed
Three men cornered and robbed another man as he left a Fifth Avenue nightclub on Aug. 5.
The 28-year-old victim was approached by the thugs as he left the building, which is between 81st and 82nd streets, at around 3:30 am, cops said.
While two of the men hit and punched the victim, the third grabbed a $2,500 necklace from around the victim’s neck. The group then fled in a white car.
Bank job
Someone robbed an 11th Avenue bank on Aug. 5.
A man sporting a wig and dark glasses walked into the Capitol One bank between 65th and 66th streets at around 3:30 pm, cops said.
The suspect passed a note to the teller stating, “Give me all the large bills.”
The employee did as she was told, and the man ran out of the bank and down 11th Avenue with the loot.
Cops believe that the bank was robbed by the same wig-wearing man who hit the Sovereign Bank on Fifth Avenue at 75th Street a week earlier.
