Muslim refugees are caviar and Christian asylum seekers are chopped liver to the Obama administration, which resettled 6,703 believers of Mohammed from the war-torn nation this year, but only 28 Christ worshippers.
The selective compassion is sickening.
Christians have lived for 2,000 years in Syria, but virulent Christian persecution in the land where the apostle Paul is said to have converted on the road to Damascus and where Christians still speak the Aramaic language of Jesus is the untold story of our time.
Christians have been in the Muslim world since well before Muslims, but they are forced to convert, pay a tax, or be killed for their faith, and their houses of worship destroyed, while Western refugee resettlement programs fast-track relief to Muslims.
President Obama and hangnail Hillary Clinton pride themselves on championing the disenfranchised — he wants to resettle 10,000 Syrian asylum seekers by Sept. 30, she wants to increase their numbers to 65,000 — but both ignore the Christians who are among their most tortured ranks.
Christian contributions to free societies — the same ones where a black man can be elected to the highest office on earth, and a woman can aspire to it — are far and above any Muslim endowments to civilization. Yet Christian decimation is a forgotten epidemic, unmoving progressives preoccupied with mollycoddling Muslim refugees, regardless of the jihadists infiltrating their streams:
• Two Iraqi migrants in the U.S. were charged in March on terrorism-related charges.
• An Afghan refugee hacked riders with an axe on a German train.
Muslims have reveled in sectarian violence and revenge killings throughout their 700-year existence, whether it is tyrants toppling homelands, extremists spilling innocent blood, or moderates promoting their fundamentally different way of life.
Muslims exhort Islam’s pacifism — ad nauseam — and state Western intervention fuels the ire of radical Islam, but a religion is only worth its weight in worshippers, and Muslims have violently seized, conquered, and oppressed once-flourishing Christian lands, including Syria, Egypt, North Africa, and Turkey, and devolved them into global armpits and hell holes, exporting terrorism, death, destruction, and the refugee crisis now spilling onto on our shores.
