Boasting the world’s most famous cheesecake, Junior’s Restaurant and Bakery in Brooklyn has consistently served the community — and now, its taking its world-renowned desserts to the streets in celebration of National Cheesecake Day.

Since its opening in 1950, Junior’s has delighted with Brooklyn foods such as jumbo hot dogs, deli sandwiches, and steak burgers. In 1973, though, the New York Magazine named Junior’s cheesecake the best cheesecake in New York after organizing a blind taste test.

This weekend, fans and newbies alike can celebrate National Cheesecake Day — Saturday, July 30 — with an epic cheesecake tour. If visiting a Junior’s restaurant isn’t in their cards, Brooklynites with a sweet tooth can still get their cheesecake fix by scoping out Junior’s new first-of-its-kind customized food truck.

“As Marie Antionette might have said, ‘Let them eat cheesecake!'” said owner Alan Rosen in a statement.

Junior’s will tour its “Cheesecake Truck” across the five boroughs, beginning Friday at Smorgasburg World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan. From there, Junior’s will head to Long Island City, Queens.

On Saturday the truck will travel from the Bronx to Staten Island, where Junior’s will honor National Cheesecake Day with the Staten Island Ferry Hawks baseball team. The sweet shop will also host a cheesecake-eating contest there, with proceeds going to the NYPD’s Widows and Orphans Fund.

The adventurous weekend of cheesecake will end in Brooklyn. The truck will post up on Coney Island’s Surf Avenue Sunday morning. Junior’s social media will reveal the truck’s live location throughout the weekend so customers can make sure they don’t miss it.

At the truck, customers can buy $5 slices of the renowned cheesecake with all the toppings, as well as spin a “Wheel of Cheesecake” to win merch.

“From the Financial District to the beach, we’re going to give New Yorkers an unforgettable weekend,” said Rosen.
