Nine people were sickened by carbon-monoxide poisoning at the Brooklyn Terminal Market in Canarsie on Aug. 13.

The Fire Department responded to a call about high carbon monoxide levels in Building 77 at 8:52 am, according a department spokesman. Seven people who felt sick were treated at the scene, but two others were had to be transported to the Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan.

“Two people went in serious but stable condition to Cornell hospital,” said the spokesman.

According to the Fire Department, a piece of machinery had been left on and caused the carbon monoxide buildup.
