NJ Nets star holds basketball clinic at sfc

Budding hoopsters received tips from the top on how to hit the hardwood when New Jersey Nets’ star Josh Boone led a basketball clinic at St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights.

The Maryland-born forward-center – the Nets’ number one pick in the 2006 National Basketball Association (NBA) Draft – helped future shooting stars, aged eight to 14 years, hone their skills through drills, exercises and games during the four-day free program, sponsored by Forest City Ratner Companies (FCRC), whose head, Bruce Ratner owns the Nets.

With five different sessions for kids to choose from, the clinics are designed to emphasize valuable life skills that sports, such as basketball, can help foster in young athletes, said a spokesperson.
