Senior swindle
Three thugs stole a 72-year-old woman’s purse as she walked to the subway on Nov. 28.
The hoodlums snatched the handbag at the corner of Scholes Street and Graham Avenue at around 6:30 pm and dashed away with the victim’s apartment key and address book.
Box cut
Two cruel crooks slashed a man’s wrist with a box cutter as he attempted to enter his Bedford Avenue apartment early on Nov. 29.
The criminals — one male and one female — approached the 38-year-old victim at about 12:40 am, as he attempted to enter his building, which is between South Third and South Fourth streets.
“You don’t live here, we live here,” the male thug said before cutting the victim’s wrist.
Turkey caper
Thieves snatched $80 from the register of a closed Metropolitan Avenue diner on Thanksgiving.
The crooks got into the eatery between 6 and 6:30 pm — when many New Yorkers were still digesting their turkey — by pushing an air conditioner through a rear window. Once inside, the thieves grabbed the cash from the register and fled from the restaurant, which is between Stewart and Gardner avenues.
Grand thefts auto
Perps enjoyed a long weekend of car theft, heisting at least five vehicles. Here are the details:
• Thieves stole a 1987 Buick from a spot on Manhattan Avenue spot between Varet and Moore streets on Nov. 26. The white sedan was there at 9:30 pm but gone a half-hour later.
• A Volkswagen Jetta was heisted from a spot on South Fifth Street between Bedford and Driggs avenues on Thanksgiving day. The owner had left it unattended from 4:30 to 7:30 pm.
• Hooligans heisted a Toyota Corolla parked on Keap Street between South Fourth and South Fifth Streets on Nov. 28. The white four door had been parked there at 11:45 am.
• Thugs hotwired a Subaru that had been parked on South Fifth Street between Kent and Wythe avenues at noon on Nov 28.
• A 2006 Nissan Maxima was swiped from a spot on Driggs Avenue near South Fifth Street on Nov. 30. The thief acted between 2:30 am and 5 pm, the car’s owner said.
