At high noon every Tuesday, our source at the MTA sends us a top-secret briefing that lists the service changes for the upcoming weekend. This dossier is typically two pages long — a scholar’s scroll of befuddling changes that could bring Brooklyn to its knees.
But this week, folks, this document is just one page long — a single sheet of minor service impediments that should do little to your weekend commute. Plus, with the Q running express from Sheepshead Bay to Prospect Park, what better excuse do you need for your first summer trip summer to Coney Island?
All changes are from Saturday, June 9 at 12:01 am to Sunday, June 11 at 5 am unless otherwise noted:
D: Manhattan-bound trains are rerouted via the N line from Stillwell Avenue to 36th Street.
N: No Coney Island-bound N trains at Court Street and Jay Street-Metrotech stations from midnight to 6:30 am Saturday and Sunday and midnight to 5 am on Monday.
Q: Manhattan-bound trains run express from Sheepshead Bay to Prospect Park from 11:30 pm Friday to 5 am Monday.
R: Bay Ridge/95th Street-bound trains run via the N line from Manhattan to DeKalb Avenue, skipping Court Street and Jay Street-Metrotech stations from 6:30 am to midnight on Saturday and Sunday.
