The note-passing bandit responsible for holding up an Atlantic Avenue bank has been connected to at least six similar heists stretching back to the middle of July, officials said.
Police said that the man, described as a six-foot-tall, 225-pound black male in his mid-40s, first held up a bank on Myrtle Avenue in Fort Greene on July 14.
He reportedly the same bank on Fulton Street twice on two separate dates before entering the Marathon Bank on Atlantic Avenue near Bond Street.
Workers said the thief entered their branch just before 4:30 p.m. on August 27 and passed a threatening note to the teller.
“$4,000,” the note read. “No dye packs, no alarms, no one gets hurt.”
After reading the note, the teller put about $600 in a bag and gave it to the thief, which he greedily accepted.
Officials said that the suspect has robbed three more banks since that date, the last one September 3.
In each case, he passed a threatening note, officials said, adding that, so far, no injuries have been reported.
Cops are asking anyone with information regarding this man’s whereabouts to come forward.
