Cops arrested a man after DNA evidence linked him to a Skidmore Lane burglary on Oct. 10, 2012, where expensive jewelry was poached, court documents show.
The victim told police he was out and about when his home security company phoned to say the alarm at his home between Flatlands Avenue and Avenue J was blaring at 11:30 am. Racing back to his abode, the vicitm found a broken window and jewelry box that had been emptied of its valuable conents.
Police only recently determined that the jewelry box contained genetic material belonging to the suspect, leading to his arrest, according to court documents.
Blender
A man was arrested for allegedly bashing a woman over her head — with a blender — on E. 108th Street on Oct. 5.
The victim told police that she was between Glenwood Road and Flatlands Avenue at 2:30 am when the suspect slinked up from behind and knocked her senseless with the blending appliance. Adding insult to injury, the blender belonged to the victim, according to court documents.
