This brunch was an all-ages affair.
Santa Claus dined with youngsters and their parents at Aviator Sports and Events Center’s Brunch with Santa bash on Dec. 14. Families frolicked alongside Jolly St. Nicholas and one parent said her daughter truly bonded with the bearded bloke.
“She really enjoyed herself — she didn’t want to leave,” said Lila Mieles, whose daughter Cali Rodriguez met Santa.
Kris Kringle’s helpers decorated holiday crafts between bites of their breakfast or lunch. There were two sections of the brunch — one in the morning and one in the afternoon — so families had their choice between arrays of delectable dishes, including pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, salad, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, fruit salad, potato frittata, and bacon-cheddar quiche. Kids sipped on orange juice or apple juice and adults drank coffee, tea, mimosas, and Bloody Marys.
One parent said the mimosa was the perfect present for the older crowd.
“It was definitely a nice bonus to have an adult beverage to enjoy,” said Miele.
After munching on their meals, Old St. Nick met with the youngsters and asked them what they wanted for Christmas — and one parent said the red-suited man was able to pry out her daughter’s special seasonal request.
“It was very funny, I myself did not know until she said it,” said Natalie Peña, whose daughter Alyssa Geronimo is vying for the collectable character Shopkins. “It was great.”
