One group of ‘Lucky Shots’

he Gallery at Harriet’s presents its latest exhibition, “Lucky Shots,” the culmination of more than a decade of Mike Schreiber’s diverse work as a photographer.

The show includes a wide range of subject matter from his widely recognized “dog photos” series to his uniquely stylistic portraits of hip-hop artists including Mos Def, Common, Nas, and M.I.A. “Lucky Shots” runs June 15 to July 24. The opening reception is June 15 at 3 p.m.

Schreiber’s work captures varied subjects including entertainers, prisoners in Angola State Prison and kids on the streets of Cuba. His humanistic approach to life is reflected in the full gallery of mostly black and white photographs, providing an unparalleled aesthetic viewpoint. His photos capture the true essence of cultural life and perspective with an end result that is refined yet undeniably honest in its raw and gritty tone.

The Gallery at Harriet’s Alter Ego is at 293 Flatbush Avenue between St. Marks and Prospect places. The Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday, 12-8 p.m. and Sunday until 5 p.m.
