Here are all the special and ongoing events this month at Prospect Park, Brooklyn’s favorite greenspace:

Special Events

Morning Bird Walk: Gulls Galore, March 7, 10 a.m., Audubon Center, free: Think all gulls are the same? Take another look by exploring the park’s Nature Trails and discover all the different species of gulls in the Park. Led by the Brooklyn Bird Club.

Spring Break: Blooming Naturalists, March 29-April 2, daily, 1-4 p.m., Audubon Center, free, kid-friendly: Spring into action and train to be a naturalist. Lean how to use tools of the trade and make your own nature journal. Kid-friendly.

Spring Break, Spring Sprouts, March 29-April 2, daily, 1-3 p.m., Lefferts Historic House, free: Make your own pot of herbs to take home using newspaper, soil and seeds. And up us get the Lefferts Gardens ready for spring.

Ongoing Events

Nature Crafts, every Saturday and Sunday, 1-3 p.m., Audubon Center, free, kid-friendly: Looking for something to do with the kids? Teachers/Naturalists at the Audubon Center are available each weekend, leading structured, fun, and engaging arts activities for children. Kids create toys, puppets, and more, using all-natural materials — and it doesn’t cost a thing.

Lefferts Historic House – Second Floor Tour, every Saturday and Sunday, 2:30-3:30 p.m., Lefferts Historic House, free: View significant artifacts from 19th century family life and walk into a fully furnished 1820s bedroom. Tours every half hour.

Early American Crafts & Games, every Saturday and Sunday, 2:30-3:30 p.m., Lefferts Historic House, free, kid-friendly: Imagine yourself in the past. Learn games, pastimes and tasks that were common 150 years ago.

Discover Tours, every Saturday & Sunday, 3 p.m., Audubon Center, free: Take a walk with one of the park’s naturalists to watch for animals, and investigate little-known facts about Prospect Park and its animal residents.

Introduction to Birdwatching, every Saturday, 12-1:30 p.m., Audubon Center, free: Look, up in the sky, it’s a bird! But what kind? Take a tour and learn about the magnificent array of birds that call Prospect Park home.

Science Power Hour, every Saturday & Sunday, 1:30-2:30 p.m., Audubon Center, free, kid-friendly: Join a naturalist at the Audubon Center for cool science activities. A new experiment every month.
