Who needs Tivo? The Brooklyn Paper and Brooklyn Independent Television’s exciting debate featuring the five men who hope to succeed Bill DeBlasio and represent Kensington, Windsor Terrace, Park Slope and parts of Gowanus, Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill in the City Council can be viewed just by clicking above.
The forum — featuring John Heyer, Gary Reilly, Josh Skaller, Brad Lander and Bob Zuckerman and moderated by Brooklyn Paper Editor Gersh Kuntzman — aired on Tuesday night on the BCAT TV Network, but can now be watched any time you want right here.
You’ll want to watch it again and again. The taping last week featured lots of fireworks — including Skaller and Lander going at it over allegations that Lander is whipping up public school parents by hyping the fact that Skaller sends his kid to private school.
And who doesn’t love hearing John Heyer talk about how he favors equal nuptial rights for gays and lesbians, yet opposes gay marriage?
The video is also available at www.bricartsmedia.org/BITspecials and the Community Newspaper Group’s new political Web site BoroPolitics.com.
And make sure to check out these other hot “Debate Week” cablecasts this week:

• Public Advocate (featuring DeBlasio, Mark Green, Norman Siegel and Eric Gioia): Friday, Aug. 21 (repeated on Tuesday, Aug. 25).
All shows are at 9 pm on the BCAT TV Network, which is channel 56 on Time Warner customers and channel 69 for Cablevision subscribers. As with this debate, all other forums will be available online roughly 24 hours after they first air.
