P.S. 217 students host the class of ‘55

What was Brooklyn like in 1955?

Public School 217 students were delivered the lowdown by those in the know when the Flatbush school hosted the Class of 1955.

The trip down memory lane had alumni musing about the good ol’ days during a milestone celebration, which had the golden guests – some from as far away as California and Florida – rubbing shoulders with former school chums, and waxing nostalgic about their scholastic stomping grounds, 1100 Newkirk Avenue.

Guests enjoyed a reception in the library and then headed for the senior fifth grade class for “a stirring session of Brooklyn then and now.”
