Palliative caring

Metropolitan Jewish Hospice and Metropolitan Jewish Palliative Care invite caregivers to join them for an educational experience, November 10 from 8:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the UJA-Federation of New York, 130 East 59th Street in New York City.

During the conference, “The Same but Different,” attendees will explore the rituals and customs practiced by different faiths and cultures during the end of life.

Participants will hear from a broad panel of interfaith and interdisciplinary professionals who will share their rewarding real-life experiences providing end-of-life care. Medical, spiritual and social caregivers, as well as the general public are invited to attend.

The keynote speaker will be accomplished educator, poet, author and funeral director Thomas Lynch. An adjunct professor with the University of Michigan, Lynch’s work has been featured on PBS’s Frontline, the BBC, and in The New York Times, The Times of London, and Newsweek.
