Spooktacular stroll: Park Slope howled with festivities as mom, dad and the kids came dressed to thrill at the annual Halloween parade presented by the Park Slope Civic Council – topped this year by a procession of towering papier-mâché puppets and a DIY costume cavern for garbless gargoyles.
Trick-or-treaters donned their scariest, most whimsical garb and headed for 12th Street and 7th Avenue, where they put their eeriest foot forward – with other intrepid critters of the night – to celebrate the 21st annual fright fest.
The nerve-jangling jaunt featured an eye-popping, spine-tingling assortment of ghouls, goblins, witches and other frightful folk, who did their devilish best to entertain the Halloween hordes as they set goosebumps-a-rising.
Those without a costume, whipped up a phantastic creation at the do-it-yourself costume shop set up outside the old John Jay High School, 237 7th Avenue.
Greeting revelers along the way were such hair-raising sights as the headless horseman, a triumvirate of ghouls and perennial favorite, the grim reaper.
Tremulous tricksters stopped screaming long enough to accept treats being offered along the stroll.
More fearless frolickers howled in delight as they reveled in the gut-wrenching atmosphere created by creepy characters poised en route, waiting for just the right moment to pop out and frighten a merrymaker.
