Remsen heist solved
A 28-year-old man was arrested for a July 1 heist.
Police said the man, along with a partner in crime, pulled a gun on two men on Remsen Avenue between Church Lane and Avenue J at 9 pm.
The thugs ran off with $3,000 and the victims’ driver’s licenses.
Cops caught the 28-year-old this week and charged him with robbery in the first degree, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
By Aug. 31 his sidekick had not been caught.
Flatlands weave
A 51-year-old was nabbed on drunk driving charges after he was caught weaving along Flatlands Avenue on Aug. 29.
Police pulled his 1997 Ford Expedition over near E. 105th Street at 3:45 am after he was seen “driving in and out of double yellow lines on the opposite traffic lanes,” according to court papers.
When they questioned him, he appeared to be drunk, police said. He later admitted to having two Coronas and some wine before getting behind the wheel.
Blade bust
An 18-year-old was behind bars on Aug. 27 after he was seen flashing a gravity knife on E. 88th Street.
The teen was hanging out between Avenues L and M at 5:27 pm when he pulled out the knife as a cop stood nearby.
When the officer approached, then teen threw the knife away and ran off, but was caught after a brief chase.
Rooftop renegades
Thieves cut a hole through the roof of a Fine Fare supermarket on Utica Avenue on Aug. 27, but apparently didn’t have enough time to get inside.
Workers showed up at the market, which is between Avenues K and L, and found the hole, but nothing appeared to have been stolen.
The attempted break-in took place sometime after 6 pm, officials said.
Window woes
A thief forced his way into a Flatlands home on Aug. 22, taking several credit cards and some jewelry.
Police were told that the burglar forced open a rear window to the E. 55th Street home, which is between Avenue I and Flatlands Avenue.
Knocked down
A thief barreled into a man on Aug. 22 and robbed him of his cellphone during a Flatlands clash.
The 37-year-old victim told police he had just stepped inside the Farragut Road building, which is between E. 59th Street and Ralph Avenue, when the suspect grabbed him and threw him down the stairs.
The thief scooped up his victim’s cellphone and ran off with it.
Purse swipe
A thief busted his way into a car left in a Flatlands Avenue parking lot on Aug. 24, taking a woman’s purse.
The 31-year-old victim said she left her car in the lot, which is between E. 58th and E. 59th streets, at about 1:10 pm.
She returned after running a few errands and found her passenger side window broken and her purse, credit cards and cash missing.
Attacked on Flatlands
Two thugs jumped a 71-year-old man and robbed him on Flatlands Avenue during a brutal Aug. 12 altercation.
The victim told police he was walking down Flatlands Avenue between E. 46th and E. 47th streets at 1:30 pm when the suspects pushed him to the ground, took some of his belongings, and ran off.
Help wipe out graffiti
As the ongoing war against graffiti vandalism continues, cops are offering a $500 reward to anyone with information that can help them arrest neighborhood vandals.
The hefty reward is part of the city’s ongoing push to rid New York of graffiti, the leading quality of life complaint brought to police.
Anyone with information about graffiti vandalism in their neighborhood is urged to contact either 311 or 911.
