Onlooking officer
Four thugs were arrested after they attacked a man and stole his phone on Lorimer Street on April 13.
The prey was talking on his phone near Metropolitan Avenue at about 2:47 pm when the four assailants approached, demanding the cellular device. The man resisted, and was met with punches and kicks to the face.
Luckily, an officer was within earshot and called for backup. The man’s phone was recovered the creeps were put behind bars.
Lobby laceration
Two ruffians assaulted a man and emptied his pockets in a Frost Street apartment building on April 14.
The 19-year-old victim was waiting for his friend in the lobby, which is near Debevoise Avenue, at 2 pm when the attackers rushed him. One told the victim to empty his pockets while the other landed punches and kicks — then slashed the loiterer on the hand with a knife. The two made off with the man’s cellphone, wallet and watch.

A crazy brute was arrested for choking a woman in her Morgan Avenue apartment on April 13.
The woman woke up in her apartment, which is between Maspeth Avenue and Withers Street, at about 10 am to wild knocks at the door and screaming. She opened the door and the perp barreled through, wrapping his hands around her neck. She was able to break free and call police, who arrested the jerk a short time later.
She told cops that the unknown assailant had attacked her days before by putting out a cigarette on her cheek.
Bottles up
A sore loser was arrested for breaking a beer bottle over his card-playing buddy’s head in a Debevoise Avenue apartment on April 13.
The two were engaged in an intense game of poker at about 11:40 pm at the apartment, which is near Jackson Street, when they started to argue. The perp smashed a bottle over his head, leaving him with cuts and bruises. Cops came and locked up the jerk a short time later.
Car thefts
Honda Civics continued to be a hot item for thieves. Here’s a roundup of all the damage:
• A creep stole a 1999 Civic from a spot on Sutton Street near Meeker Avenue on April 7. The victim woke up at about 9:50 am to find the vehicle missing.
• Someone else stole a Civic from Havemeyer Street near N. Eighth Street on April 11. The victim returned from his friend’s house at 3 pm and saw an empty space where his car used to be.
• Some thug stole a Kawasaki motorcycle from a spot on Greenpoint Avenue on April 15. The victim returned to the spot, which is between Manhattan Avenue and Franklin Street, at 6 pm and found his hog missing.
