Painting is fundamental.

Tots from across Brooklyn showed up at the Central Library on Sunday to get an art lesson from children’s book author Herve Tullet, who penned and brushed such canonical works as “The Book With A Hole” and “Press Here.” Tullet visited the library to help his young fans paint a colorful mural inspired by his own art.

Tullet’s work is currently on display at the library, and after completing the big paitning, he stuck around to sign copies of his new masterpiece “Mix It Up.”
