Burglars broke into a Stagg Street apartment, snatching everything they could grab — even the piggy bank on March 12.
The crooks broke into the apartment, which is between Bushwick Avenue and Waterbury Street, between 8:15 am and 8:30 pm, cops say. Once inside, they took a $5,000 diamond ring, an Apple computer, and even a ceramic jar filled with $10 of loose change.
Knockdown
Two thugs shoved a man to the ground a mugged him on South Second Street on March 15.
The men approached their victim just after midnight near the corner of Hooper Street and pushed him to the ground.
“Where’s the bread at?” one of the crooks asked. “Where’s your phone?”
With his hands scratched and bloodied from the shove, the victim forked over his Sidekick cellphone, his wallet, and a fancy watch, cops say.
Flathead
A screwdriver-wielding criminal tried to rob a Bushwick Avenue bodega, but cops nabbed him before he could escape.
The would-be crook ran into the grocery store, which is between Moore and Varet streets, just before midnight on March 14, demanding cash and other items.
But before he could make his getaway, police arrived and took the man down.
Rental smashed
A man had valuables stolen from a rental car that he had parked on Manhattan Avenue on March 14.
The man told police that he parked the car at around 5:45 pm between Varet and Moore streets, but when he returned less than three hours later, he found that thieves had smashed his rear window and taken more than $2,000 of clothing, cops say.
Sedan be gone
A man’s Honda Accord was swiped from where he left it on Taylor Street on March 13.
The victim told cops that he had left the car between Bedford Avenue and Wythe Place at around 3:30 am, but when he went back the next night at 11:30 pm, the $18,000 sedan was gone.
