For father and son restaurateurs Joseph and Marco Chirico, the apple — or in this case, the olive — doesn’t fall from the tree.
Marco, the spaghetti scion whose father has long run the Carroll Garden’s red sauce temple Marco Polo Ristorante, has opened his first eatery, a wine bar and small-plate restaurant called Enoteca on Court, and it’s right next door to his pop’s place.
Naturally, the two men insist that the restaurants are as different as rigatoni and spumoni.
“With the Enoteca, we have added a wine bar and lots of different cheese from Italy, France and New York — it’s all my son’s idea,” said Joseph, who told The Brooklyn Paper that the new restaurant aims to attract a younger crowd than his classic eatery.
Enoteca on Court boasts more than 125 bottles of wine selected by wine expert Charles Scicolone, and the food standouts include wood-fired pizzas (pictured) and paninis.
