78th Precinct

Park Slope

Drug store criminals

Police arrested two suspects who they say stole more than $500 worth of toiletries from a Ninth Street chain pharmacy and attacked an employee on Aug. 22.

The 35-year-old man, working with a 36-year-old accomplice, allegedly swiped a load of items including packs of Claritin, bottles of Motrin, beauty swabs, and containers of shea butter from the store between Fifth and Sixth avenues at 1:40 pm — and then punched an employee in the face.

Cops cuffed the younger perp on the scene and the other one on Eighth Street, authorities said.

Vacation gone wrong

A crook burglarized a 12th Street home and stole a bunch of electronics sometime between Aug. 19 and Aug. 20.

A house sitter, who was watching the residence while the 58-year-old homeowner was on vacation, told police that he checked up on the abode between Fifth and Sixth avenues on Aug. 19 at 5 pm and everything was fine. But when he returned the next day at 8 pm he noticed that the front door was open and that air conditioner in the first-floor window had been moved.

The criminal made off with a Play Station 3 console, a Wii console, an iPod, an iPod dock, and a backpack.

Caught red-handed

Cops collared a 26-year-old man who they say stole items from an Atlantic Avenue chain supermarket and assaulted a store employee on Aug. 24.

The 22-year-old employee told police that the man took a bunch of wares from the establishment near Flatbush Avenue at 2 pm, and then punched him in the face when he attempted to run out of the store.

Police cuffed the suspect on the scene, officials said.

Ransacked ride

A thief broke into a woman’s blue Cadillac that she left parked on 10th Street and looted an array of pricey accessories worth more than $11,000 sometime between Aug. 17 and Aug. 18.

The 40-year-old woman told cops that she parked her tricked-out ride on the street between Second and Third avenues on Aug. 17 at 6 pm. When she came back the next day at 7:30 pm she realized that the door lock on the driver’s side was removed.

The perp took off with the car’s air bags, navigation system, television, center console, and some clothing.

Eat and run

A miscreant snagged a woman’s purse that was hanging from the back of her chair while she was eating at a Seventh Avenue restaurant on Aug. 23.

The 36-year-old victim told police that the criminal grabbed the handbag — containing her driver’s license, credit cards, and house keys — while she was having lunch at the eatery near 14th Street at 2 pm.

The bandit fled down Seventh Avenue on foot, according to a police report.

Car gone

A crook jacked a woman’s car that she left parked on President Street sometime between Aug. 17 and Aug 19.

The 31-year-old woman told police that she left her orange Chevrolet on the street between Fifth and Sixth avenues on Aug. 17 at 10 am and when she returned two days later at 8 pm, her ride was gone.

The woman was unsure if she locked the doors and said that she may have left a key inside the vehicle, according to a police report.

Close, but no cigar

Cops cuffed a 56-year-old man who allegedly tried breaking into an Eighth Avenue residence on Aug. 24.

The 27-year-old homeowner told police that he was walking outside his abode near Union Street and saw the man straddling the banister at the top of the front staircase while pulling apart the window screen, attempting to get in the house.

The alleged crook fled at the sight of the man calling 911, but authorities were able to catch him.

Two-wheeler theft

A bandit swiped a man’s $1,500 bicycle that he left chained to a light post on Atlantic Avenue on Aug. 23.

The 34-year-old victim told police that he locked up his red-and-white two-wheeler near Flatbush Avenue at 1:30 pm and went to go shop in a nearby department store. When the man returned to fetch his bike it was gone.
