Bad beats
Cops cuffed two men after they allegedly stole a guy’s Beats headphones and pepper sprayed him in the face at the High Street subway station on Clinton Street on March 20.
The victim told police he arranged the sale of his fancy headphones with a guy on Facebook a day earlier, who told him to meet up at the station near Cadman Plaza West at 10:07 am.
Once the pair met on the platform, they proceeded up to the mezzanine level, where one suspect left and returned with the second, who he told the victim wanted to buy the speakers, according to the police report.
The new guy asked to try on the headphones and as soon as he put them on, his friend opened the emergency gate for him to flee from the station, police said. The victim told cops he then grabbed the other suspect to detain him until police arrived, but he allegedly blasted pepper spray in his face and ran off.
Officers eventually tracked the pair down and arrested them.
