Police are looking for four knife-wielding crooks wanted for violently robbing two subway newspaper stands earlier this month.

The band of thieves brandished a knife and sucker punched a 49-year-old newspaper seller on the Atlantic Avenue Station’s 2 train platform on Dec. 16 at around 11:30 pm, before grabbing cash from the stand’s register and running off, according to authorities.

Police believe the same group struck again at a newsstand inside Borough Hall station six days later at around 7 pm, when they hopped behind the counter and beat up the employee, before stealing a handful of cash and several packs of candy.

Authorities estimate that all four men are between 20- to 30-years-old, and were last seen on surveillance video wearing dark clothes.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of these individuals is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or on Twitter @NYPDTips. All calls are kept strictly confidential.
