Police: Man slashes friend with a screwdriver

Screwed over

Police arrested a man who they say slashed his friend with a screwdriver and caused a laceration to the side of his rib on 17th Avenue on March 23.

The assault occurred at 79th Street around 3 pm, when the pair’s verbal dispute devolved into a physical spar, leading the victim to be treated by emergency medical personnel and eventually by the staff at Maimonides Medical Center in Borough Park, police reported.

The perp fled on foot down New Utrecht Avenue towards 78th Street until police caught up with him later, according to authorities.

Plastic swipe

A crook stole a woman’s credit card and social security card from her car parked on 71st Street on March 22.

The baddie broke into the car parked between 21st Street and Bay Parkway at around 6 pm, according to the police report, which noted that there was no damage to the car.

Drove off in the night

A bandit stole a man’s 2006 Ford from its Shore Parkway parking spot on March 23.

The man told cops he parked the car at Bay 41st Street around 2 am and when he returned to it later that morning, it was gone. The owner of the car had the only set of keys to it, according to police.

School slasher

Cops cuffed a boy who allegedly slashed another boy in the stomach with a blade inside a 21st Avenue public school on March 23.

The assault occurred around 1:30 pm at a hallway in the school, located between 20th and 21st avenues, police said. The boy had a cut to his stomach and left school afterwards, according to the report.
