Police: Pedophile prowled Downtown office building

Cops arrested a man who allegedly fondled a 9-year-old girl as she and her 3-year-old brother waited for their mother in a Schermerhorn Street office building on Aug. 4.

The accused 41-year-old was in the office between Bond and Nevins streets at 10:30 am and took a dollar bill from the girl’s purse, according to a police report. He then grabbed her, placed her on his lap, and groped her chest, officers stated. But when he told her to remove her pants and get on her knees, the little girl screamed and he took off running, cops said.

Police arrived not long after and arrested the man, according to the authorities.

The guy has been arraigned and is being held on $100,000 bail as he faces 13 charges, including sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, trespassing, and petit larceny, according to prosecutors’ documents.
