Knife thrower
A man was arrested for throwing a knife at another man’s chest on Surf Avenue on Feb. 12, said police.
The victim told police that the pair were having an argument between W. 27th and W. 28th streets at 4pm when the suspect pulled out a blade and threw it at him, causing a dime-sized puncture wound to the man’s chest.
An officer on the scene witnessed the incident and arrested the accused, police said.
Strangler
Police arrested a man who they say crept into a woman’s W. Second Street apartment while she was sleeping on Feb. 19 and choked her and screamed curses at her, said police.
The woman told police she was sleeping beside her son in her apartment between Avenue Z and Shore Parkway at 8 am when someone began squeezing her neck and shouting threats and curses, startling her awake. The woman managed to fight off her attacker and call police, officials said.
A costly argument
A cad refused to let a woman leave her W. 23rd Street apartment on on Feb. 19, instead punching her in the face and swiping her cash and debit card, said police.
The woman told police that she got into an argument with the man in her apartment between Mermaid and Surf avenues at 9 am. The ruffian refused to let her leave the apartment or call 911, officials said. She asked the goon to leave but he punched her in the face and threatened her life, according to a police report.
She fled to the bathroom and dialed 911, but as she left the bathroom she saw the man rummaging through her belongings and grabbing $140 and a bank card from her purse, authorities said.
Wait a minute …
Two toughs swiped a woman’s wallet on W. Fifth Street and Neptune Avenue on Feb. 15, said officials.
The woman told police that while she was waiting for the B68 on Neptune Avenue at 5 pm two hucksters approached her and asked for the time. After she spoke with the goons the woman noticed her wallet was missing from her purse, which contained cash, bank cards, and her driver’s license, according to a police report.
