Police talk down jumper

He’s all smiles now.

An unidentified 20-year-old had a grin from ear to ear Friday after he was talked out of a suicide attempt in East Flatbush.

Police said they were called to the address on Martense Street between Flatbush and Bedford avenues at 4 pm as the troubled young man had threatened to jump from the second floor.

But the man was soon calmed by the officers and ultimately gave up his attempt during a 10-minute standoff. He was later taken to an area hospital for observation, officials said.
